Your capacity for intimacy with your Self determines your capacity for intimacy with others. This intimacy is the foundation for emotional fulfillment and shapes the quality of your relationships. I believe that the quality of your relationships is, in fact, the quality of your life. This, in turn, impacts your health—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Yoga and meditation are the practices I have found to build that intimacy with my Self. They are my art, and it is what I teach.
Born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal, I grew up immersed in the philosophies of the Vedas and the practices of yoga and meditation. Looking back, I realize how profound this was—though as a child, it felt ordinary. I now laugh at how what was once a simple minute of silence at the start of school feels like a cornerstone of my existence today.
The foundation of yoga and meditation has been my path to healing from an abusive childhood. These practices not only helped me survive but also sharpened my intellect and focus enough to earn academic scholarships that brought me to the U.S. It allowed me to build a successful corporate career, for which I am deeply grateful. However, my true calling lies in service—so I teach.
Trained by Stanford Medical School, I approach teaching holistically, at the intersection of Spirituality and Science. While Asana (yoga postures) is just one part of yoga, it must be understood within a broader context—there is no "right" way to do any posture because our anatomies are as unique as our thumbprints.
I am a Brooklyn-based artist and offer private and small group sessions in the NYC area. If you're on the journey of building or deepening your relationship with your Self, it would be an honor to support you. I'm also open to discussing other partnership opportunities.
